AGE GROUP INTERNATIONAL - June 2010

The Mississauga Aquatic Club had some great performances this weekend leading up to the Championship season.  Many swimmers were looking at this as a last opportunity to qualify for the various championships meets coming up in July.  Stephanie McDonald achieved her first Age Group National time in the 200 back swimming a 2:39.11.  She adds now to the 12&under relay team of Tiara Higuchi, Julia Matuszczak, and Wennie Zhang.  Stephanie also won 2 bronze medals one in 50 back and one in the 200 back.  Melanie McDonald was also a bronze medal winner in the 50 breast.  Jessica Stoyan made her first long course Provincial standard in the 100 free in 1:07.45, Deniz Selcuk made her first long course Provincial standard in the 100 fly in 1:12.31, and Eric Xiao did the same in the 100 free in 59.35 narrowly missing his Age Group National time.  Great Job!  Alexandra Jozwiak was a bronze medal winner in the 100 free in 1:00.74.  Austin Rockett was twice gold medal winner in the 400 free and 200 back and bronze in the 200 fly.

Great Job swimmers, we look forward to a great Championship season.
